April: 2nd or 3rd week Club member Lisa Doricchi is offering two trips to DVWFFA members who would like to fish for spring Stripers on the Susquehanna Flats on a 20 foot center console. Best times are the second and third week in April. Dates will be determined based on weather conditions. Location: Boat will leave out of Two Rivers Yacht Basin, Bohemia River in Chesapeake City, Maryland. It’s approximately a 30 minute ride to the Flats. Lisa can offer a stay-over for some. No Fishing license is needed. The boat license covers everyone in the boat for the Chesapeake Bay Trip. The cost: Two bottles of wine per person and pitching in $20.00 for gas. Float for spring stripers with Captain Richie Gaines, Anglers Connection Guide Service. Richie has been featured in ESPN’s “North American Outdoors”, OLN’s “Sport Fishing Magazine and “Fishing with Roland Martin”. We will have 2 boats and accept a maximum of 3 ladies per boat. The boat fee is $450 per boat for the day, lunch not included. No salt water experience, equipment or license is needed. You only need proper attire for weather conditions. 4 Pond Fishing and Light Dinner at Betsy Miraglia’s home in Bryn Mawr, PA. All members are welcome to attend the board meeting. Pond fishing weather permitting and depending on conditions, bring woolly buggers. RSVP to Betsy.
Thursday, May 8-Saturday May 10 Enjoy four days of fishing on Pennsylvania’s beautiful mountain streams with your host, Ann McIntosh. This is prime time fishing and the trip is recommended by Ann for intermediate and experienced anglers. Stay at Ann’s recently purchased cottage on the Colerain Club waters on Spruce Creek. Fish private and public water. Most of the fishing will target WILD trout on the Little Juniata River, with access between 2 and 10 miles from the cottage. We will hope to hit the early sulphur hatch. The Little J. typically produces nice trout between 11” and 16”—with many larger than that. Ann will accompany 2 anglers at a time on the private Spruce Creek water so all 5 guests will have an opportunity to fish Spruce Creek. In the event the Little J or Spruce are not fishing well, Ann will lead anglers to Penn’s , Spring, Elk or White Deer Creeks. Maximum 5 guests, first come, first served policy, $$$ received first guarantees a place. Cost: $60/night X3=$180. (payable 100% in advance, cash or check. Fee includes full breakfast and lodging. Other meals, beverages and snacks are on BYO basis. All guests should bring any special dietary requirements. Ann will assign dinner responsibilities once the trip is filled. Sunday, May 18 Wade with Guide Terry Peach, of A Marblehead Fly Fisher, for large trout on the delayed harvest area of the Brandywine at Downingtown, PA. The exact stream of choice will be dependent on water conditions. Meet for breakfast, then fish a full day. Guide fee is $300 plus gratuity, per day, (including lunch) to be split by 2 anglers. (More than one guide is available.) Refund policy: It is your responsibility to find a replacement for yourself or forfeit guide fee.

The inn is located in the heart of fabulous fishing: walk to Penns Creek or fish the waters of Spring, Elk, Pine or White Deer and numerous other creeks located close by. Saturday, June 28-Wednesday, July 2 Come to Maine and fish for stripers in the Muscongus Bay area of Mid-coast Maine. The stripers arrive mid June in the mouths of the St. George and Kennebec rivers where we’ll be floating in magnificently scenic salt-water coves. Your host’s charming modern log cabin sits at the waters edge of Maple Juice Cove in Cushing, a rural town that has been immortalized in the paintings of Andrew Wyeth. The cabin can accommodate 5 women in addition to the host (4 beds, 2 euro air mattresses). Guides have been arranged through Maine Outdoors. No experience or equipment needed! Spend the first day touring Monhegan Island, and then spend 2 days fishing. Except for one night of lobster cooked at home, dinners are at local restaurants or lobster pounds, including Primo, a (casual) fine dining restaurant known as one of the best in New England.
